In terms of landscape design of general resort hotels, we don‘t use too much force. On the contrary, in China, due to the influence of the five fold plant landscape of commodity attributes, plants are used as bricks and dead species. We see that many resort hotels, science and technology parks and industrial parks are also designed according to the five fold plant, and even the construction units only construct according to the five fold landscape. Many on-site engineers of Party A and garden engineering companies, You can put aside the drawings, construct like an eight part essay, and be complacent. Shiber described this result as "the same as real creatures, but not the same as real creatures" thousands of years ago.

In the past few years, we focused on the investigation and study of high-end resort hotels in Japan. Affected by the epidemic, we had the time to make a good investigation of domestic high-end hotels. The focus was first on Sanya. Based on the research on resort hotels, we chose Sanya Taiyang Bay Baiyue Hotel, Haitang Bay magnificent hotel and Haitang Bay jiapeile hotel as the investigation objectives to eliminate casual observation, Each family stayed for 2 nights, and also visited other high-end hotels around. Why boyue and jiapeile are chosen, because they are both designed by Jean Michel gathy and are benchmarking projects. Who stands in position C; He is the third generation designer of aman after ED Tuttle and Kerry Hill. He is Belgian and married a Chinese wife, so he has a deep understanding of Chinese culture. Boyue opened in 2015 and jiapeile opened in 2018.

In my hotel fan group, there is amanjunkie (AMAN crazy), who has stayed in 15 aman hotels at home and abroad. After she stayed in the Park Hyatt Hotel in Sun Bay, she said in the group that she felt the familiar smell of aman as soon as she came in. I immediately explained to her that the architect of the Park Hyatt Hotel was Jean machiel gathy, He can be said to be aman‘s third-generation imperial designer, so it‘s not surprising that he smells like aman。

Before Bai Yue, let‘s talk about Amanda hotel. Amanda Hotel, as a synonym for internationally famous luxury hotels, has improved the cognitive level of China‘s hotel industry after it settled in China, especially in the injection of cultural and spiritual connotation. According to the order of construction and opening up, there are Fayun aman in Hangzhou, Dayan aman in Lijiang, Yihe aman in Beijing and Yangyun aman in Shanghai. There is a wonderful story behind each aman. Among them, Beijing Yihe aman was designed by Belgian architect Jean machiel gathy. This aman, which is separated by a wall from the summer palace, is integrated with the summer palace. Most people never expected that it was designed by a foreigner. It can be seen that gathy has a deep understanding of Chinese culture.

On November 9, our plane landed at Sanya Phoenix Airport. We rented a Volkswagen Langyi on the Shenzhou rental car in advance. After picking up the car, we headed for Baiyue hotel. It took about an hour according to the navigation. On the highway, everyone yelled and found that there were a lot of mosquitoes in the car. We felt something moving around our neck and killed many ants one after another. It can be seen that mosquitoes are easy to breed in the tropical climate。

After getting off the expressway, I transition from the urban interface to the natural interface. Walking on the two-way two lane Yalong Bay Road, the shade of banyan trees on both sides is closed, and the holiday atmosphere will come out immediately.



At noon, before going up the mountain, I found a place to have lunch, so I had lunch at outlets on the way. In terms of strategy, many tourists come here for dinner. There are many kinds and reasonable prices. They can also go shopping.

After lunch, I strolled around outlets a little. The colleagues in the garden were very careful. He bought a bottle of insecticide spray to kill mosquitoes on the train. After we got on the bus, Yuan Gong said that as soon as he turned on the air conditioner, he sprayed his whole body of dead ants from the air conditioner. He was really shocked, ha ha.

Go ahead, come to an intersection and come to taiyangwan road. The sign says "taiyangwan senior resort". There is even a concierge on the side of the road. It seems that this is the private territory of taiyangwan. Sun Bay is surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea on one side. It is connected with other ports by a 5km mountain sea highway. After walking for a while, I began to go up the mountain. Walking along the hillside, I could gradually overlook Yalong Bay on the left. At this time, several small sports cars passed us. Some sports cars stopped on the road halfway up the mountain. Some handsome men and beautiful women were taking photos, and some beautiful girls were net red at first sight, leaning on the sports car concave various shapes. This is the best viewing spot overlooking the Sun Bay in the distance. The Park Hyatt Hotel with seven buildings is very conspicuous. Down the mountain, the car drove into a shady villa area and arrived at the door of the hotel lobby. The whole process of entering is similar to going to a paradise.

 
The doorman was very friendly. Two of them came up at once to help us with our luggage, but the parking was different from the Tengchong shitouji we went to. The doorman said he wanted to park his car in the basement. Yuangong went to park the car. We went to the lobby to check in. Because I see too many reference pictures, when I walk into the gate, I face the familiar Chinese red entrance wall and entrance axis. The end of the axis is the lobby, but the visual axis continues. From the large glass door in the south, the axis vision extends out. It is also a very familiar borderless still water surface and spherical landscape lamp. The visual end is at Yalong Bay Beach in the distance.



When we arrived in the lobby and looked around, the low-key, luxurious and connotative atmosphere immediately infected us, especially the long and thick solid wood table in Chinese Red placed in the middle of the lobby, with a row of wax candlesticks on it, which must have a different flavor when lit at night (the long tables in other parts of the hotel are dark brown red. Only the long tables here are Chinese red. I guess the designer‘s purpose is not only to echo the atmosphere of the whole hotel, but also to express the warm welcome and festive atmosphere in the lobby).

Library and viewing platform:

According to the waiter‘s instructions, we turned left and right to the entrance of the viewing platform first. At the end of the corridor passing through a long axis is a very distinctive wooden sculpture. We took us into the viewing platform library and were immediately moved by the atmosphere here!



In the middle of the room is a dark red long thick solid wood table with many original English books. Two rows of beer glasses and metal chandeliers illuminate the desk. You can sit down and take a look at a book. We found a sofa tea table and asked the waiter for a pot of black tea. First, we relaxed our nerves and looked carefully at the interior design here. Bookshelves were symmetrically set on the walls on both sides, with vases and various books on them. The whole room was illuminated by lights, creating a dark red, low-key and quiet atmosphere, Everyone here immediately became relaxed and quiet, but in a low-key, there was a kind of cultural luxury.



At the end between the library and the tea table is an oval desk. The wall opposite the scene is inlaid with a grid of solid wood squares, which is very atmospheric.

Turning around, I left the library and went outdoors. There was a bar with floor glass on three sides. In the middle was a bar full of all kinds of wine, and many teahouses were set around.

Out of the bar, go to the outdoor roof wooden platform and look around the external environment of the hotel. Through the boundless pool on the roof, you can see the axis of the beach and the "reverse world" sculpture of British sculptor David Hubble on the rectangular lawn (I jokingly call it the steel circle sun).

Guest Room:

After a while, the waiter sent the room door card and felt the labyrinth design, so he went back to the lobby first, then turned a few corners from the lobby of the six buildings, and walked through a long corridor connecting the seven buildings we live in. The corridor is also equipped with floor candlesticks on both sides. The candlesticks are modern Chinese style and thick. The lights are lit at night, Form a strong sense of returning to the room.

The moment the door was opened, the concept of sea view room was redefined. In order to have a high-quality viewing angle, the whole five meter long window uses a piece of glass to ensure the super invincible sea view. My first reaction was to come to the window, look at this large net red glass window and look around from the window. I felt that the sea was within reach. It was really facing the sea, with warm flowers in spring. I had a panoramic view of the whole Sun Bay and Yalong Bay, overlooking the 130 meter long borderless swimming pool under the window, and saw a lot of net red taking photos by the pool. From other soft articles and circles of friends, we often see sitting on this large glass window to take photos of 270 ° around the sea. We are a hotel booked for the double 11 event price. We made an appointment in advance and upgraded us to the supreme sea view room. However, our floor is a little low, and we still didn‘t take a 270 ° big scene. However, I should take a picture, I‘m not going to send a circle of friends.

I first saw the design of this room. It is a modern Chinese style. After all, it was designed five years ago. It is not the popular sexual indifference. It is a little calm. It may be more targeted at mature customers. After all, only this class has this economic strength, and the aesthetics of this class is relatively calm.

The pattern of the room is a large room. Through the movable wooden screen, the room can be divided into dynamic and static areas. The dynamic area is the bathroom, shower, dressing table, bathtub. Many things can be placed on the long wooden dressing table, but the water basin is not well selected. Wash your hands and face, and the water splashes on the table. The location of the bathtub is close to the glass window. You can enjoy the scenery outside the window while taking a bath.



After looking at the spare parts immediately, I finally saw this Le labo 22, which is the legendary hand flavored customized bath series (the first taste is lemon and citrus sour, and the second part is orange flower and bitter orange leaf, but I have rough skin and thick meat, and I didn‘t realize it after use, ha ha). It is said that only Addison and Baiyue have adopted this brand in Sanya high-end hotels, The boss originally designed perfume for Armani, and later started his own business, handmade, selling like we used to do soy sauce and filling in the market when we were young. The model we use is vial 22. Le labo Santal 33 is sold on a special website. Four vials cost 220 yuan, which is expensive! I took the opportunity to ask my cleaning aunt for more sets and went back to Shenzhen to send my friends and colleagues to try.

The wall lamp in front of the mirror in the bathroom is very beautiful. It uses the traditional Chinese character pattern and hollowed out to make the lampshade. The light is relatively soft. From the side, we found the dexterity of the wall lamp design. The original designer used the mirror reflection principle to make only half of the wall lamp, close to the mirror, and formed a deception visually through the mirror reflection mirror, thinking it was a complete lamp. Design is everywhere.

The Chinese red wall between the two wash basins is inlaid with dinosaur eggs, suggesting that Sanya used to be the hometown of dinosaurs. Static is divided into two parts. The door is a relatively independent one, with tea bar, wardrobe and luggage rack. There is a door on the wall, which can lead to the next door. If it is a family with two rooms, it can open the connection. There are sofa, tea table and dressing table beside the big glass bed in the bedroom, and welcome fruits are placed on the tea tray on the tea table. There is one detail that the designer has done very well. The wall on the dresser is inlaid with a large mirror and lined with large glass windows, which makes people have the illusion of larger and longer glass windows.

 


The design of the bedside is full of Chinese style. The traditional bamboo mat, the Chinese red leather, the bedside chandelier with Chinese characters running through, and the paintings hanging on the wall above the bedside are also the theme of dinosaur eggs. There is a Bose speaker on the bedside table. I connected it with Bluetooth and tried it. The music is melodious and the sound quality is good, which is very suitable for the occasion. Five years ago, we didn‘t have so many requirements for supporting electronic products (the magnificent hotel we stayed in later had many USB charging sockets, wireless chargers, etc.), so in this regard, I feel that I can‘t keep up with the requirements of the times.

Building corridor:

After putting down your luggage, take your camera and go out immediately. Each building is connected by axis corridors. Each corridor is carefully designed with a sense of ceremony.

In the atrium between the buildings, a large area of landscape water surface is designed, and trees are arranged in the middle of the pool, or bottles and cans are placed in the array; There is a view wood platform, but I feel that the designer doesn‘t want to set up a lot of activity space in the atrium. Maybe tourists on vacation are not interested in the atrium space, so there are a lot of 207 guest rooms. In fact, they can‘t meet a few people at ordinary times. They often get lost and feel that the environment is leisurely and quiet.



Artistic atmosphere:

While walking and watching, it is constantly attracted by the indoor sculptures and murals. It is said that the whole hotel follows the "Bay Art private residence" "We have collected more than 1300 works of art, which is like designing an art palace. When you wander around the hotel, you can easily turn the silhouette of a work of art into a dazzling circle of friends. Famous are the works of Korean artist Li zaixiao, wood ball and wood circle, which don‘t know what to express; the steel ring sun on the lawn of British sculptor David Hubble, whose name is "Reverse world"; the work of Chinese sculptor Xie Aige, "carefree tree"; the work of French painter George de la Torre "the contempt of Shura"; the "Yinji" of Puerto Rican painter Michel Concepcion; the "sea and sky" of Chinese painter Wu Guanlin, and so on.
 


Banquet Hall:
Running around among the buildings, I accidentally walked into the banquet hall and shocked again. The hall is very high. The walls are made of elements similar to Chinese bamboo mats. The ceiling is a matrix, and each unit is similar to an inverted red candlestick.



130 meter long net red swimming pool
The weather was bad recently. When we set out from Shenzhen according to our plan, the typhoon "Swan" blew over. Because the trip had been booked, we were particularly worried that the typhoon would blow to Hainan and affect the trip. Fortunately, the Swan ran to Vietnam and landed, just wiping Hainan; The Swan just left, and then the typhoon "Huangao" came again. Interestingly, Huangao still followed the track of the swan and landed in Vietnam. Therefore, the weather in Sanya is bad and the wind is particularly strong these days. After a while, I turned to this super long 130 meter outdoor boundless swimming pool.



As aman‘s Royal designer, Kerry Hill designed youbu Ubud hotel for Alila 15 years ago. As a gift to Bali, Kerry Hill built a 25m long boundless swimming pool in the heart of the jungle. Since then, it has created the unwritten rule that resort hotels must have boundless swimming pool. Great! If he applies for a patent for the design idea of the boundless swimming pool with a wide brain hole, I‘m afraid he doesn‘t know how much copyright fee he can charge! The long pool of Park Hyatt Hotel in Sun Bay, as I understand it, should be Jean Michel gathy‘s tribute to Kerry Hill!



Looking back at the far end of the swimming pool, the long swimming pool has the impulse to jump in, sparkling, and the night scene is a beautiful scenery at night. The fellow gardeners swam back and forth for four times, exhausted. The original design of the pool bottom is black stone. Now the pool bottom is covered with white waterproof cloth, making the whole pool more blue and bright, like a giant emerald inlaid on the grass。



Mysterious indoor swimming pool

When you enter the nearby indoor constant temperature swimming pool, you immediately feel comfortable and comfortable. This indoor swimming pool is too human and you can not worry about the weather. The swimming pool is divided into adult pool and children‘s play pool. Five large chandeliers in Chinese style are hung above the pool surface, which is very elegant. The ceiling is made of transparent decorative materials. At night, the light emitted by the lamps is projected onto the water surface and then reflected on the ceiling, Light and shadow mottled, sparkling, swimming here is simply a kind of life enjoyment! Due to the epidemic, the massage pool at the end of the pool was covered with curtains and was not open to the public.



gym:
The indoor gym is located on the 6th floor, and the configuration is still good. It can meet the requirements of aerobic exercise and strength training. It has a wide range of treadmills, fixed equipment, Smith squats, dumbbells and so on, providing a very good exercise experience for beauty loving fitness people.



Dining experience:
Breakfast is in the joy hall on the first floor of building 7 where we live, which can be directly reached by the elevator. You can sit by the window and enjoy the boundless swimming pool and have breakfast. You can have Chinese food here at night and enjoy the magical night view of the swimming pool. Compared with the magnificent and jiapeile where we later lived, breakfast seemed a little thin and had fewer kinds. However, the juice was freshly squeezed, which was OK. Dinner here is a little expensive. I suggest you go out. The package we bought on the double eleventh day included a small Seafood Hotpot for dinner in Chayuan restaurant. We went to eat with our colleagues in the evening. It felt really good. There were grouper and all kinds of seafood. We ate very full. Suddenly, we felt that this small and expensive housing package was worth it.



When walking in the hotel, the waiters will take the initiative to say hello to us. The service is very friendly and hospitable. Call the room service. I can still remember my last name on the other end of the phone. I feel very close. I like it very much! Therefore, I thought that as a designer, we must have a vision, go more, see more and experience more, so as to provide better design services for the society. Reporter: do you have any good suggestions for some young designers to solve this pressure? Because I heard a question at the scene yesterday. They said that there are many designs, and they also feel great pressure. Some institutions may need great changes. In fact, many designers are under great pressure in this regard. How can you reduce the pressure and adjust yourself?

Gathy: the secret of design lies in your energy on the one hand, your creativity on the other hand, and your exploration and enthusiasm on the other. When you want to really learn design and really want to go deep into design, you need an accumulation of experience, and this accumulation of experience requires you to travel to all kinds of hotels, but the purpose of looking at this hotel is not to completely imitate them. If you imitate them, it is a very common phenomenon in our country, that is, to completely copy and imitate others, This will not progress. When you see the humanities and environment, you need to do an analysis and sorting in your mind. When you do your own design, you will always have inspiration. At this time, your design will be handy. You will always copy others and never make progress.

Chinese designers lack vision
Reporter: what do you think of the current design talents in China?

Gathy: in fact, Chinese designers are very excellent. I first came to China in 1981. Since 1981, there were no interior designers in China, cars on the streets were rare, and everyone was riding bicycles. However, in just 30 years, China has achieved economic take-off and created a miracle in the history of the world economy. China‘s 30-year development, With the start of China, China‘s interior design and architectural design have achieved a leap, but Chinese designers are as excellent as foreign designers, but they are still lack of experience, and the lack of experience comes from that they never travel around the world to see what other designers around the world have designed? Sometimes they read some newspapers and magazines, but the design in newspapers and magazines has been designed five years ago and has taken shape, so it always lags behind the development of foreign countries. I think domestic designers are no worse than foreign designers, but they lack some of their own knowledge and experience.

Reporter: in fact, it‘s really important to broaden your horizons.

Gathy: I never stay in my own country. I always travel around the world to Norway, Africa or the United States. Only in this way can I broaden my horizons. The Chinese design style is always limited to a small space in China.

Reporter: how do you evaluate the current design level in China? In addition, there are more and more cooperation projects between Chinese and foreign designers. How to integrate the differences between Chinese and Western cultures in their works?

Gathy: as just said, Chinese designers still lack the exploration of knowledge and accumulation, which is the lack of this aspect. Many Chinese people are in a hurry. Chinese people are in a hurry for efficiency. They are in a hurry for some things. As long as the owner requests to do this thing, I quickly come up with a plan, and I don‘t consider whether to really integrate some of my experiences and opinions into it. It‘s always very fast. The owners always pay very low money, so it forms a not very virtuous circle. I‘m always running for money, and my design is just for this money, It‘s a big problem in China that you don‘t really integrate your insights and opinions into it.

The second question is how to integrate Chinese and Western cultures?

Gathy: because of your previous experience, I have a good integration of Chinese and Western cultures in my own design. If I do design simply from the perspective of Chinese style or westernization, I will never achieve integration. It is still a accumulation of experience that makes you realize this integration in your own design. A friend of mine once stayed in a hotel I designed. After staying in the hotel, he called and said that I like the hotel very much, but I don‘t know why I like him. I just like living here. The design should consider the needs of users, not that it is beautiful but not practical. When designing, you should consider whether the people who really live here like this style, Whether living here is very comfortable and pleasing to the eye is the basic requirement.
